"Welcome to Our Journey"

I know this website has taken some time, but I finally feel it’s ready to showcase the great products we offer at Our Girl Autism. I invite you to explore the site and share any feedback on how we can improve.
We want this to be a safe and supportive space. Living in a world of autism comes with many challenges, and we hope this platform helps foster understanding. Feel free to share your experiences with us.
Please note, we are not doctors or therapists. We are parents navigating life with autism—waking up each day unsure of what it will bring. Some days, we catch glimpses of what feels like “normal” life, while others bring unexpected challenges that leave us wondering why.
Over the past year, we’ve met incredible people who have supported us or wished us well on our journey. Attending Local Markets regularly has been a highlight, allowing us to connect with others facing similar challenges—more common than we realized.
However, we’ve also faced tough moments, like being told we caused our daughter’s condition through diet or immunization choices. These comments have often left me needing to take a walk to reset my mind, trying to understand why people think that way.
As parents, how we react to others’ opinions matters. Yes, we feel hurt when people judge or make assumptions about our daughter, just as we would for any of our children. But we strive to find the good in people, recognizing that many don’t understand what living with autism truly means.
For example, when your child doesn’t say hello, most would respond with a simple “Hi” if prompted. An autistic child might not—they might walk away, scream, or react in another unexpected way. Sadly, the person waiting for the greeting might assume the child is rude, not realizing the complexity of the situation.
Living with autism is not easy, but building understanding starts with sharing our experiences.
